Being affiliated to MSBTE, Mumbai, the institute follows the curricular framework and structure prescribed by board in terms of duration, content, delivery, evaluation and certification. The university reviews and restructures the syllabus and curriculum at regular interval where the minimum requirements, standards and quality of education are maintained as per the regulatory requirements of PCI and AICTE. The MSBTE follows multidimensional approach on curriculum design and development; namely need based assessment, demand of society, analysis from stakeholders and guidelines of regulatory bodies. The MSBTE conducts the curriculum development workshops where faculty members participate to give their suggestions on curriculum. Based on the critical evaluation of suggestion by all the stake holders, members of Board of Studies design the curriculum of each subject.
The institution thoroughly follows the curriculum of MSBTE, Mumbai. However, for effective implementation of the curriculum, the institution adopts the following steps:
- By preparing college time-table scheduling the required number of classes per teacher per subject.
- By preparing academic calendar covering various activities for the entire semester on the basis of the academic calendar of the MSBTE.
- By preparing academic planner for individual subject.
- By preparing course file comprising of the calendar of events, syllabus, question bank, assignment bank and books for reference at the beginning of each session.
- By forming various committees of staff for different activities.
- Display of academic calendar to every student.
- Enroll the students in various extension activities such as social service activities, etc.
- Assign the work load to the individual faculty.
- Distribution of academic diaries at the very beginning of the session to the faculty is a regular practice.
- Effective implementation of curriculum as per the academic planner is recorded in the work dairy of each staff member which is scrutinized by the Principal on regular basis.
- Formation of ‘Teacher-Guardian clusters’.
- Evaluation of students through regular class tests, and sessional examination.
- Assessment of practical records/ journals
- Giving home assignments
- Invites renowned academicians to deliver talk on recent technological aspects.
- Timely completion of the syllabus
- Regular class-wise faculty meetings are conducted by the Principal to review the action plan of teachers, the results, attendance, etc.
- If any divergence is observed from the stated plan of action then remedial actions and strategies are devised to cover the gaps.
- If needed extra classes are conducted as per the requirements of the students.
- Feedback is taken from the students to know the level of implementation of the curriculum
- The feedback so collected is compiled and analyzed for further improvement in the curriculum delivery.
- The college organizes various seminars, workshops, development programs and also encourages faculty members to interact with outside world for effective completion of curriculum.
- Each Faculty member is allocated a group of 15-20 students every year.
- Students are regularly monitored for their attendance and academic performance after every sessional examination.
- It also includes career guidance to students for their future, helping them for participation in extracurricular and sports activities and poster presentation in conferences.
- At the end of every sessional examination the problems faced by students are collected and submitted to Guardian teachers.
- In case of consistent poor performance of the students the concern parents are informed
- After receiving reports from Guardian teacher IQAC conducts meeting and takes the suitable action
- Extra guidance provided by faculty through personal interactions.
- Motivating the students for better performance in competitive exams and for higher studies by mentors during mentoring sessions.
- Providing career guidance for higher studies by Training and Placement cell.
- Interaction with alumni through alumni association.
- Continuous motivation by faculty and student mentors.
- Assigning seminars/projects and group leadership.
- Arranging guest lectures, seminars and workshops through R & D cell
- Motivating and deputing the students to participate in in-house, intercollegiate or state and national level poster competition based on their interest.
- Providing in house- training workshops for the students which includes hands on training of sophisticated instruments and software.
- Motivation for participation in co-curricular activities like online tests or similar events
The institution caters to the needs of group or individual requiring special attention by:
- Conducting Tutorial classes of small group of students 20 to 25 in number.
- Providing Remedial classes for underperformed students.
- Conducting group discussion and problem solving sessions.
- Faculty and student one to one interaction.
- Conducting preparative classes for the exam.
- Giving assignments to the students which are theory or laboratory oriented or based on case study. These assignments are solved by the students on their own which enables better understanding or the subject.
- The charts, models or posters prepared by the students are displayed in the laboratories. This problem based learning enhances the critical thinking ability of the students.
- Conducting mentoring sessions to provide guidance and support regarding academics and career. The senior student mentors are also assigned for providing continuous interaction and support to the students in the studies.
- Arranging in house- training workshops for the students by various departments of the institute which include demonstrations or hands on training of sophisticated instruments and software.
